New Series

This new series, Manuscripts, 2005-6, gouache with transfer on paper, 15" x 11" is on-going. I started them while in Venice and they have been developing since. There are smaller works as well as these. They continue the same thread as in my oils: dislocations and multiple layers of knowing come together for moments when they enchord and stop time while implying it and change. Hard to explain. Just look and forget all the language.

It is so good to be able to follow what you are doing right here and now! Who cares about the bad art of the 50's (Fifties Frenzy on Redmond writes.) The artist still holds the power if he will only reclaim it! The new series is quite beautiful.

Yes and no, Mireille. Beauty comes from intensity. Intense Seeing and intense feeling. I believe artists more than anyone have a responsibility to make comments on what they observe. I'm pleased you like the new series.
